The Mechanical Ballet

Description

Shot inside a factory which makes pointe shoes for ballet dancers, the film reveals the different steps of the shoes’ creation, highlights the gestures of the workers, and explores their relationship with the machines and the sounds they create.

Expanding SFDFF’s reach this year by partnering with other organizations and art galleries, The Mechanical Ballet will be screened at a dedicated screen/kiosk in the lobby of San Francisco Ballet, running on a continuous loop from October 1 – 23, 2016.
