SFDFF in association with Alonzo King LINES Ballet presents
Clips & Conversation with FREDERICK WISEMAN and ALONZO KING.

Event Sponsors: Kate & Bill Duhamel, Lucia Choi-Dalton, and Gary Ross

SFDFF launches its 5th festival with a special fundraising event at the JCCSF, Sunday November 2, 2014, at 5:00pm. Renowned filmmaker Frederick Wiseman captured the ephemeral world of dance in three extraordinary documentaries – Ballet (1995), La Danse (2009) and Crazy Horse*(2011). See excerpts from these films and Boxing Gym (2010) followed by Wiseman and LINES Ballet’s Alonzo King, as they discuss and examine the unique relationship between dance and film and how Wiseman’s craft and art have contributed to the public’s understanding and appreciation of dance.

“A breathtakingly beautiful, behind-the-scenes documentary, on the world of ballet. If you don’t already swoon over this art form, this film will make you wonder what took you so long.”
